Nullsoft have quietly released an update to their ubiquitous media player. Winamp 5.03c is a functional, versatile, feature-rich media player with support for a vast array of audio and video formats. This application boasts support for visualisations, "Modern" skinning, limited CD burning and ripping (unlimited in the Pro version), a comprehensive Media Library and an integrated internet radio and TV tuner. Winamp 5 has built on the success of its predecessors to maintain its title of premier media player.

An extensive number of plug-ins can be downloaded to further enhance Winamp 5. Plug-ins are which add support for more languages, file transfer to portable music devices (such as iPod) and new file formats are available. Visualisations, AVS presets and even games have been released as plug-ins. There is also a large collection of skins to choose from.

This release includes an eMusic trial, which allows you to download 50 mp3s for free. See here for more information. Winamp 5 comes in three versions: Full, Lite and Bundle. The Bundle version includes the an mp3 of "Still In Love Song" by The Stills, in addition to the Full version's feature set.
