Macromedia has released major stability and performance updates for some of it's Studio MX 2004 suite of products for both Windows and Mac OSX. Programs affected by these updates include Dreamweaver MX 2004, Flash MX 2004, Flash Professional MX 2004, FreeHand MX 2004 and Firework MX 2004.

Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 (7.0.1) fixes known problems in Dreamweaver MX 2004. Some of these issues could cause Dreamweaver to perform slowly or occasionally crash, so all current Dreamweaver MX 2004 users should download and install this software update. Make sure the language version of the updater matches the language version of your copy of Dreamweaver.

:bulletpurple:Fireworks MX 2004
The Macromedia Fireworks MX 2004 (7.0.2) updater includes all fixes addressed in the previously released Fireworks MX 2004 7.0.1 updater as well as additional fixes which greatly slowed down performance in earlier versions of Fireworks MX 2004. All Fireworks users should download and install the 7.0.2 software updater. You may download the Fireworks MX 2004 (7.0.2) updater from the Latest Product Updates website.

:bulletpurple:Freehand MX 2004
FreeHand MX version 11.0.1 contains fixes for issues identified since the release of FreeHand MX (version 11.0) and includes product activation. This release also ships standard with Studio MX 2004.  Since this release does not overwrite your original copy of FreeHand MX (version 11.0) the updated version (11.0.1) appears as FreeHand MXa in the “Start Menu.”.

:bulletpurple:Flash and Flash Professional MX 2004
:pointr: Fixes for the most important bugs identified in the Flash MX 2004 release.

2004 just looked like minor enhancements to MX to me... Maybe if it didn't cost like $300 to upgrade i would concider it... but $300 to upgrade fireworks so i can draw a lil spiral line? nah... rugged old MX and 4 do the job alright ;)

I own the software. I actually won it from the Macromedia User Group I help run. It was Studio MX 2004 with Flash Professional. Student versions are cheap enough for someone to buy them and not have their wallet hurting too too much. There is something about stealing software that does not sit well with me but I guess sometimes you need to do it.

Indeed, after viewing their online seminars, reading thru the articles in their site and actually using it, i came to this conclusion that 2004 version is a lot better than 2003.

Well, basically i feel that this version of dreamweaver make CSS feel more important and make it a even more essential component when creating a website that is efficient.

I still haven't used their 2004 versions but I really hope dreamweaver has better threading...version 2003 seemed so noobish in that department
