Update From °dygel
Yes, most of you figured it out - today certainly was April Fools' day. Kudos to those of you who saw through our clever little illusion and had some fun along with us. Those of you who forgot this crucial little holiday can relax now. There really was no coup d'etat of the website by the British admins. Today was just a day to poke a little fun at the ongoing American/British rivalry that we admins are so fond of jibing with each other over behind the scenes.

No one was actually banned for this event, nor did anyone actually get any extra privileges. All the status symbol changing you've seen today was nothing more than smoke and mirrors. Those symbols will be returning back to normal again as those involved log back into deviantART.

I hope you enjoyed our little prank! Continue being devious! =D

Sincerely,
°dygel :dygel:

The Original Post By `kronix
Today is a day of great change for deviantART. For too long the British staff members of this site have idly sat by as our nation's heritage is plundered before our eyes. On this website, Americans are free to bastardise Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's English as they see fit. They are at liberty to mock our customs, our accent, our history, and our teeth. No longer will we allow this to occur. History will look back and smile on us this day, just as history smiles on the valiant British troops who so bravely defended His Majesty's Empire against the evil American fanatics, in what you Americans call the War of Independence.

Simply put, the British staff members have taken over deviantART and banned the previous administration. And it's about bloody time we had some changes around here. The most prominent being the immediate banning of any Americans who violate the new policies we have introduced. Read on for more…

As part of our reforms, deviantART is now a British company. That means the impending branding of the site in the glorious red, white and blue of the Union Jack, our sacred flag. We will administrate this site with the same grace and sophistication which all British people display. Not only will deviantART be run as a British company, but it's users are now required to follow our civilised and elegant ways. As of today, the following rules are being enforced:

:bulletblue: SPELLINGS
All American spellings of British words are now banned on this site. The following is just a sample of what is no longer permitted on deviantART, with the required spellings in brackets:
Mom (mum)
Color (colour)
Gray (grey)
Fetus (foetus)
Theater (theatre)
Criticize (criticise)

:bulletblue: PHRASES AND WORDS
You peons are also required to use British phrases and words for the following (required British phrases/words are in brackets):
Wow (Cor blimey)
That's great (pukka)
Thank you (Cheers guv'nor)
Hello ('Ello 'Ello)
Oh my god (Bloomin' heck)
How are you? (Been a'ight mate?)
Damn Democrats! (Damn Germans!)
Can I have a beer? (Gimme a pint, Guv)
Ass (arse)
Hood (bonnet)
Trunk (boot)
Restroom (crapper)
God Bless America (God Save the Queen)

Please note that any American who uses the term "soccer" will have their IP banned from deviantART and their gallery purged. Not only that, but the last 10 people who have commented on that American's user page will also be banned. Let that be an incentive for you Americans to refer to the beautiful game as FOOTBALL and not "soccer". No exceptions will be made.

:bulletblue: MANDATORY FOOTER FOR ALL POSTS
All posts must now end with the sentence "God Save The Queen" as a mark of respect for Her Majesty Elizabeth II. Again, no exceptions will be made.

:bulletblue: PROTECTION OF THE BRITISH REALM
Any attempt to mock or tarnish the reputation of Great Britain will be met with an instant ban. In disputes over policy such as harassment, the word of a British deviant will be worth twice that of a non-British deviant. You'll also notice that not only have the current British staff acquired Core Administrator ($ or £) statuses, but a number of virtuous British deviantART members have been recruited in order to ensure the smooth operation of the Queen's deviantART.

The British are coming, you say? We're already here, and we're running things now.

Is that what happens to us? A life of conflict with no time for friends, so that when it's done, only our enemies leave roses...
